A wonderful quality Mahogany chest of drawers by renowned furniture makers Gillows. This large country house chest of drawers having an arrangement of 2 short and 3 full length graduating drawers with superb quality timber used throughout, retaining the original handles, escutcheons and locks (one period replacement), the whole raised on large bun feet. Retaining the original finish with striking colour and grain. This chest of drawers is signed by the cabinet maker James Tennant who is recorded as working for Gillows from 1834, he has many pieces illustrated in the Gillows estimate sketch book. English, Circa 1835.
