Gillows Gothic Oak Pillar Chest After A Design By AWN Pugin

Solid English Oak pillar chest by Gillows of Lancaster after a design by AWN Pugin.  The whole made is solid English Oak with 5 graduated drawers, all retaining the original decorative handles, escutcheons and locks. and flanked by chamfered pillars terminating with rose flower carving.  Stamped "Gillows  Lancaster" to the top drawers.  Lovely honey colour with good lustre throughout.  English, Circa 1850.
